在这部娇妻摆乌龙喜剧片中,Henrietta Robins works out of her home and her husband Pete drives a cab to try to support her. When Pete gets a tip from one of his fellow drivers that a deal will be made by the Americans and the Soviets over pork bellies, he decides to invest in the market, but needs to 3000 to invest. Henrietta then goes to extreme lengths to get the money by dealing with first a loan shark, then a madame, then the mob and finally cattle rustlers. All this in the name of love.
彼得．耶茨执导的此片是一部凭空架构的闹剧。讲述一名纽约出租车司机的太太背着丈夫借高利贷投资期货，因到期不能还钱而被黑社会操纵，当货物一样地将她转卖，闹出了不少乌龙笑话。本片写出了一点小市民为钱奔波的可怜和无奈。剧情拍得轻松，但精采笑料很少，而且下半部的追逐高潮明显模仿《爱的大追踪》的剧情。该片尽管有巴巴拉．斯特蕾桑、迈克尔．萨雷金等名角的出阵，亦无助于提高影片的可欣赏性。
