在这部越南制造片中,Growing up in Canada, Thi never knew any blood relatives other than his mother, as when Thi and his mother escaped Vietnam in 1981 his father was unable to follow. As time passed Thi’s memories of his father faded, as Thi’s mother would barely mention his father’s name.
Decades later and well-settled in Canada, Thi finally plans a trip back to his homeland of Vietnam to search for his biological father. Barely speaking the language, he begins his search with only a photo and a name. With the help of his two best friends, he travels the country in hopes of connecting with his estranged family, and finally finding out the truth about their past and his own.
A deeply moving documentary, Made in Vietnam follows Thi as he spirals down the rabbit hole in this emotional quest for identity.
                    Thi Vo searches for his biological father in Vietnam after over three decades of separation. Thi Vo was a refugee escaping Vietnam with his mother when he was only a baby. Fleeing to Hong Kong where they later immigrated to Canada at the age of four. 30 years later, he had the desire to not only find his family whom he had never met, but to ultimately find his father and uncover the mystery of his background. In this emotional heart felt feature documentary, we follow Thi Vo and his friends into the heart Vietnam as they search all over the country for clues and connect with all sorts of people who help them along their way.
