《黑衣人》系列是好莱坞黑人影星威尔·史密斯演员生涯的代表作之一，1997和2002年推出的《黑衣人》前两集在全球共计收获了超过10亿美元票房，也让威尔·史密斯与汤米·李·琼斯饰演的J、K这对黑超探员组合成为了科幻影史的经典形象之一。遗憾的是，前两集因为种种原因，无缘内地银幕与观众见面。而此番《黑衣人3》的引进也为这套经典科幻喜剧系列首开先河，让影迷们一圆10年期待，在大银幕见证“黑衣人”的风采。
曾经执导前两部《黑衣人》[1]的导演巴里·索南菲尔德继续执导《黑衣人3》，而影片的黑白双星两大主角威尔·史密斯与汤米·李·琼斯也双双回归。观众不仅能看到“JK组合”风趣幽默斗嘴、各种奇异造型的外星人，还可以看看Lady Gaga、贾斯汀·比伯、大卫·贝克汉姆、蒂姆·伯顿，甚至是姚明等文体明星的演技。
这些被全球观众所熟知的脸在影片中不少都是藏匿在外星人面具下的，甚至有网友戏言，造型出位多变的Lady Gaga甚至可以不用化妆直接扮演外星人。可以让国内观众有些兴奋点的是，篮球明星姚明在《黑衣人3》中“露脸”两次，不过不是他亲自出演，而是把他照片放在了里面。
这一集中威尔·史密斯扮演的“J探员”会乘坐时间机器回到过去，与年轻时代的“K探员”共同执行任务，年轻时代的“K探员”将会由乔什·布洛林扮演。
为了拯救搭档K（汤米·李·琼斯 饰）的性命以及危在旦夕的地球，J探员（威尔·史密斯 饰）不得不穿越时空（方法居然是跳楼！），回到1969年与年轻的K（乔什·布洛林 饰）合作，而在此过程中，他还发现了K从未告诉过他的惊天秘密！
在上一集J重新召回K作为搭档之后，时间又过去了许多年，但是外星人对地球的觊觎却一直没有停歇。而且J还了解到了K已经死了四十多年。无论未来如何发展，K都和外星人入侵地球有着千丝万缕的联系。而且这段时间，J了解到是一个叫做鲍里斯的外星罪犯在1969年干掉了当时还没有太多经验的K。而在四十多年后，这个鲍里斯就成为了地球最大的威胁。而为了阻止鲍里斯的计划，J只有穿越回1969年，去拯救年轻版的K。
刻不容缓，时不我待。J的穿越时间只有24小时，否则他将被永远困在1969年。他能顺利完成计划，解救出1969年的K并挽救地球么？看来这两个好搭档又要和前两集一样，重新开始认识对方并在地球上经历一场难忘的“追凶之旅”了。

J探员（威尔·史密斯 饰）
由癫狂的纽约绝地战警误入黑衣界，在K探员的点悟下逐渐成长为新一代当家黑衣人特警。为人爽朗正直、勇猛异常，具有极强的责任感，却又善使计谋，懂得随机应变。第一集中考试一幕便将此人物的性格淋漓尽致的表现出来，而其扮演者威尔·史密斯那兼顾搞笑与沉稳的双面性格表演更使得这一角色成为最具人气的黑衣人特警。
K探员（汤米·李·琼斯 饰）
“黑衣人”组织中最老辣干练的超级探员，曾多次执行危险任务，挽救地球于水火中；在黑超界可谓传奇中的传奇，更是后来者J探员的领路人和导师。但不苟言笑的他也经常流露出温情可爱的一面，这从第一集中其调用卫星图像观测前妻，以及同萨塔星公主的暧昧之情中便可见一斑。
Z老大（雷普·汤恩 饰）
黑衣人组织的一把手，严肃认真、关爱部下、勇敢机智，虽然外表不苟言笑，但私下里却又是个地地道道的冷面笑匠，有这么一位领导坐镇，真是家有一老如有一宝，平生也会多出几分喜感与温馨。
◎漫画背景
可不要以为《黑衣人》是个原创的电影系列，其实跟如今很多热卖大作一样，它同样是地道的漫画改编作品。《黑衣人》同名漫画于1990年由Aircel Comics公司出版，其中故事由Lowell Cunningham撰写，Sandy Carruthers负责绘制，同年共推出三期，次年又再接再厉推出三期。此后该公司被美漫大佬“漫威”收购，并于电影版上映同年（1997年）再度推出四本刊：两本前传，一本续集，以及一本电影版配套漫画。
而在当年的电影大热卖座后，同名动画剧版也得以制作播出。动画版延续了电影版两位主人公的经典设定，并在原先漫画版的基础上引申了故事线索，于每周六的早晨播映，时长半小时。动画版从1997年一直播映到2001年，总共四季53集。不少朋友可能对动画版会有些印象，因为在2000年前后这部动画曾被引进到我国内地，遗憾的是播映范围并不广泛。除此之外，《黑衣人》系列的周边也是林林总总：电影版小说、电子游戏甚至是主题公园云云，一个都没落下。

《黑衣人3》由前两部的导演巴里·索南菲尔德执导。威尔·史密斯和汤米·李·琼斯依旧作为该系列的两大重要演员参与此片。由于剧情涉及时空穿越，年轻时代的探员K由乔什·布洛林扮演。
2009年4月1日，在ShoWest电影工业博览会上，索尼全球发行总裁Rory Bruer宣布了公司2011年多项电影计划，《黑衣人3》即在计划之列。
2010年5月10日，哥伦比亚影业公司正式宣布了该片将在2012年5月25日以3D立体电影的形式上映。同年10月，影片开拍。早期的预算成本高达2亿美元。
2011年12月，《黑衣人3》曝光了首款预告片。预告片尾，乔什·布洛林饰演的年轻版探员K也首度亮相。
2012年3月6日，《黑衣人3》发布全新两分半钟剧场版预告片，影片定于5月25日以2D/3D/IMAX 3D等格式北美上映，并将有望同步引进我国内地。
2012年5月2日，《黑衣人3》中文海报发布影片已确定引进，已于5月25日以2D/3D/IMAX 3D全格式与北美同步登陆中国内地银幕。

.After breaking out of a moon-based maximum security prison, Boris the Animal decides to go back in time and eliminate the person who arrested him - Agent K. After overcoming some disbelief, J manages to convince K and others of just who he is and why he's there. With the help of a being who can see all time lines, they track Boris down. .When an alien confined to a penal colony in space escapes, he goes to Earth to get the man who placed him there, MIB agent K. He confronts K, K and J corner him but he disappears. The next day J goes to pick up K but finds someone else living at his apartment. When he goes to MIB; he looks for K but everyone there tells him. K died in 1969 after tackling the alien. But J says K captured him. That's when alien vessels which are from the planet of the alien whom K and J encountered and they're about to destroy the Earth. But J says that K placed a barrier that keeps them from entering Earth. It's obvious the alien went back in time and killed K before he could deploy the barrier. So J goes to sees an alien on Earth whose father was also at the penal colony, whom J assumes told the alien that he worked on time travel and his son has the device. J goes to see him and tells him about the invasion. So he sends J back just before K's death. J arrives in 1969 and fails to stop the alien and is captured by the younger K and J was told not to tell him anything. He comes to Earth seeking revenge from Agent K, who his arm up and arrested him forty years ago and protected Earth from a Boglodyte invasion. When Agent J notes that the time line has changed in the present days and Agent O tells him that K died in 1969, he decides to travel to 15 July 1969 to save K on the following day. Agent J has difficulties to convince the Young Agent K with lies, but when he decides to tell the truth, K believes in his words and they seek out Boris together.
