A Chinese-American dancer’s discovery of her traditional mother’s hidden illness leads to an exploration of her vulnerability, inner strength and love for her mother.
Anne Wong is a promising contemporary dancer in Los Angeles, but her inability to tap into her emotions prevents her from realizing her potential as a dancer. After her mother is hospitalized, she is faced with the difficult task of saving her mother's drycleaning business while pursuing her dance career. Through these struggles, she discovers her inner strength which was a missing element in her dancing. But as her mother's health continues to decline, it becomes clear to her that she cannot both take care of her mother and continue to pursue her dream.
