Reuveny is a young Israeli-born filmmaker living in Germany, much to the dismay of her Holocaust-decimated family. Her understanding of her family’s history is upended when she learns that one of those supposedly decimated relatives--her grandmother’s brother Feivke Schwarz--forged a new identity that he concealed from his family. The filmmaker’s search takes her to the former East Germany, where, in an idyllic small town with a sinister past, she comes face-to-face with the missing chapter in her family narrative.
