在这部Z：无尽的希望片中,「コージ苑」「かってにシロクマ」といったギャグ作品で知られる相原コージによるゾンビパニックホラー漫画「Z ゼット」を実写映画化。「リング0 バースデイ」「POV 呪われたフィルム」などホラー映画を多数手がける鶴田法男監督が、POV形式の映像を織り交ぜながら、パンデミックが広がる恐怖を描いた。ごく普通の生活を送っていた女子高生のあかりと恵は、凶暴化した男に襲われたところを、アイパッチ姿でなぎ刀を振り回す謎の少女に助けられる。町中には、頭を拳銃で撃ち抜いても撃退できないゾンビ＝「Z」が増殖しており、一行は妊娠中のあかりの姉を救出し、病院に逃げ込む。
                    The film is based on a manga, which is full of zombies, the film depicts three eras randomly and intermittently. In one era a mysterious virus is spreading which upon contact zombifies both humans and animals. Being bitten by a zombie makes you one too. In the second era the virus is everywhere around the world and governments are powerless to fight it. Everybody is fighting. In the third era the virus has stopped spreading for unclear reasons, yet the zombies remain everywhere and still need to be fought.
