在这部Love City片中,George Gittoes is an extraordinary Australian artist who has spent some years now living and working in Pakistan and Afghanistan.  His previous films have been documentaries, but he has now turned to making love stories and dramas with local actors and crew.  He makes these films quickly but professionally, and they've turned out to be a remarkable project.
The plots are conventional, but the mere making of these films in Jilalabad is political and subversive.  George was confronted by the Taliban while one of the films was being made and told to stop because they didn't approve.  He asked them to appear in the film and explain why they didn't approve.
