There's a long history about China's funeral system, due to the reason that almost every traditional Chinese strictly hold a religious belief deep in their mind that the dead should always be honored and respected. However, now in the modern society, the newly carried-out policy of mandatory cremation done by the government might choose to ignore people's conventional views from a very large extent in order to reach the demand of modernized social development. So it is the relevant news that happened after gave me the inspiration and motivation of creating this script and film. Meantime I hope I can probe into its deeper side to figure out what on earth is the cause for this tough situation through writing this story. When dealing with this kind of serious theme, the first thing came to my mind was to use the narrative pattern of black comedy, using a story that seems absurd but actually reflects the existing problems of reality.
