在这部动力摇滚喜剧/家庭片中,The movie is set in Oslo in 1960. When the new TV channel NRK opens they have a talent competition where the winner gets 50,000 kroner. And Olsenbanden Junior just has to get in on this, and they come up with the band "The Dynamites", but they face stiff competition from Biffen's band "The Biffers" and Herman on piano. After a tough time "The Dynamites" win the competition. They get discovered by Pop-Johansen and he wants to make them big rockstars in America.
艾格、克尔和本尼既是同学，又是好朋友，是三个聪明活泼的小男孩。因为他们的家庭普通，在学校有时会受到富家子弟的歧视。一次，国家电视台举办全国性校际音乐大赛，头等奖奖金5，000克郎。学校里的孩子都决定跃跃欲试，这三个孩子也组成了一个乐队，命名叫“动力摇滚”，自己写词作曲，加紧排练。
比赛的日子到了，虽然他们的乐器被别人动了手脚，但他们还是凭借出色的表演赢得了评委的认可，获得大奖。
得了大奖，人人高兴，同时不免也引起不怀好意的人的惦记。自称为乐队经纪人的乔汉森和女伴多莉找到这三个孩子，吹嘘可以把他们带到美国乐坛发展。5，000元奖金被他们拿去了，当孩子们如约来到乔汉森的住地，却发现人去楼空，他们知道上当了。
机智的艾格跟踪这几个骗子来到机场，并想办法把信息传递给同伴，在大家的配合下，骗子落网了，他们为学校争得了荣誉。
