At a small town nearby, racial tension is mounting against a group of refugees and Lucas finds himself under the spell of Benoit, s smooth talking extremist who draws him into violent action. Lucas' and Caitlin's love is threatened by a tragic event as well as by the dramatic echo of his grandfather's shameful past. Finally only forgiveness will free the new generation to move forward to a greater understanding.
