                    Somewhere in a small wintry Canadian town, a young housewife makes the necessary preparations for a dinner party with friends. All of a sudden, an unattended little girl in a scarlet hood appears in the snow-covered backyard, passive and stationary. Meanwhile, the husband is in town for some last-minute errands, but there too, strange things seem to be going on, fanning a vague, yet prominent feeling of uneasiness despite the cashier lady's peculiar and inscrutable smile.
