DHIMITER ANAGNOSTI: Born at Himara, south Albania on 23 January 1936. Studied cinematography at the Cinematografic Institute VGIK in Moscow, Russia. Started working as a cinematographer at the Film Studio "New Albania" with the feature "Debatic" 1961. His first movie as a director was "The commissar of light", 1966 together with Viktor Gjika. During his carrier realized also several documentaries but Anagnosti will be known as the best Albanian director for the feature. "A tale from the past" (1987) wins the first prize at International Film Festival, Bondy, France. "Ne shtepine tone" ( 1979) is winner of the special prize in the Giffoni International Film Festival, Italy. "Red poppies on the wall" (1976) Golden Medal in the Giffoni International Film Festival, Italy. Anagnosti is also awarded with many other national recognitions.
                    The film mainly takes place in an orphanage of Tirana in the years of the city's occupation from the Italian fascists at the start of World War II.
