Román Chalbaud developed a great artistic activity in various forms lasting more than forty years. At 17 years it regularly writes theater and film critics for the literary review " El Nacional". To 20 years, it presents a program to the national télévison and founds in 1967 " El Nuevo Grupo". Between 1953 and 1990 he writes 17 plays while developing in parallel his cinematographic activity which began with the film " Cain adolescente" , one of its theatrical works. He is the first Venezuelan to have received the national prices of theater (1984) and cinema (1990).
