                    Thirtyish Nicole, a lawyer from the provinces, makes her three lovers believe that she is pregnant. After she has taken the money for an abortion, she devours her career and decides to leave for Paris, as a result of professional failure and disappointments in love. Housed in a shabby hotel, she invents a new identity and disguised herself as a man. This game brings her some success with women, especially Myriam, a prostitute with whom she befriends. She moves to her home and becomes her lover. She soon becomes tyrannical until she becomes a pimp. When Myriam is murdered, she prostitutes herself in turn, before being hired as a cleaning lady at a doctor whose young wife, Anne-Marie, becomes her new prey.
