妻子的离开让父子俩的生活陷入窘境，不过他们很快想出办法，父子俩驱车来到养老院，将约奎因的岳母洛蒂丝（Mariví Bilbao 饰）接回家中。孤独的洛蒂丝渴望温馨的家庭生活，而父子俩则希望有人照顾他们的生活起居，三个人就这样组成了一个奇怪的家庭……

                    Joaquin awakens to the sound of his wife shutting the door when she leaves him. He wakes their son, Fernando, a young man. It's quickly clear why she left: they live like pigs and do nothing around the flat except eat and watch TV. In desperation, they go to the rest home where the wife's mother lives; they stand in the doorway looking in at the residents celebrating Mass. Lourdes sees them, waves, and they invite her home. Once she sees that they just want her to cook and clean, what will she do?
