在这部La montaña roja纪录片片中,"The Red Mountain" is the testimony of two journalists from Cali, Colombia, living in Norway as refugees. Underlying their own story, we find an even sadder story: that of the kidnappings occurred at the La Maria Catholic Church in 1999. Members of the ELN rebel group committed this crime. The journalists in our story used to broadcast "Voices of Freedom" (Voces de Libertad); a radio show that sent hostages from the ELN held in the Colombian jungle messages from their friends, family and loved ones. This good deed from the journalists made them a target to the ELN. Both journalists now live in a little town in Norway, far from the lifestyle they used to have in Colombia. Among the town's residents, they must cohabitate with other Colombian refugees and their families, former members of other Colombian rebel groups as the M-19 and a member of the group responsible for their exile, the ELN. Because of their status as political refugees, they could not go back to their homes and family for seven years, which is the time required for them to become official Norwegian citizens and go back to their home as tourists. Those seven years have finally passed, and our journalists are finally ready to go back to their families.
