The Secret Life of Mary Margaret: Portrait of a Bulimic (1992)

Mary-Margaret lives the perfect life and when she can't deal anymore she becomes bulimic, shopping in other towns so people she know won't run into her.
Then when she goes to college she meets another bulimic who turns anorexic and begins to scare Mary.
When her friend dies she decides to get help on her eating disorder.
                    Lifestories: Families in Crisis is an HBO series that deals with major issues involving individuals. Issues include a child molesting priest (played by Craig Wasson) terrorizing a bunch of families, an anorexic (played by Calista Flockhart) trying to deal with her problems, a football player addicted to steroids (played by Ben Affleck), substance abuse by a teenager, homosexuality and bi-sexuality involving teenagers, a teenage girl who has an illegal abortion and dies, a girl who contacts AIDS and has to live with the disease, and homelessness in Phildadelphia and the major impact it has on a teenager. This series appeared on HBO for two seasons and featured many rising stars of movies and television such as Calista Flockhart, Ben Affleck, Ernie Hudson, and Claire Dannes.
