When Runner Dell tries to break up with girlfriend Evelyn at the Diner where she works, a phone call from a friend alerts him that Evelyn is instead expecting a marriage proposal. Runner then seeks life advice from his friends, his Grandfather, even his estranged father. Meanwhile Evelyn opens up to Runner's best friend Shane who has always been attracted to her. She flees Shane's grasp and runs to meet Runner at the town play "American Dill." A twist awaits Runner afterwards as we wonder who he'll go for, his sexy ex or his old standby - or a mix of both.
