在这部Рыцари поднебесья片中,In 1989 Yufit was invited to participate in the experimental workshop of filmmaker Alexander Sokurov, at Lenfilm Studios.It is here that Yufit shot his first 35mm film short, Knights of Heaven. The film’s theme is a continuation of he concerns of the Mzhalalafilm period: a secret experiment bringing together an idyllic and brutal band of brothers; a displaced,unclear goal; heroic idiocy. In Knights of Heaven,however, a radical change in cinematic velocity took place. Instead of the quick-cut montage of the earlier films, we find an unhurried delectation of detail; instead of feverish and frenzied activity,a retarded narrative style.
A group of mountain climbers has been specially selected to carry out a secret military mission. The fate of humanity depends upon their success. The rules of the mission require the death of each participant once his or her task is accomplished.
