在这部一起孤单—迈克·波唐玛演唱会音乐/舞台艺术片中,是2001年Michael Ball应邀在伦敦唐玛剧场上演的一出独唱剧。唯一的伴奏来自Jonathan Butterell的钢琴，后者也是该剧的音乐编导。
全剧共两幕，由选自各出音乐剧的歌曲及部分流行音乐、爵士音乐经过改编和组合串联而成，从主人公不自觉回忆往事开始，讲述了他的一段人生历程。
主人公幼年时父亲离家出走，少年时母亲又去世，陷入孤独的他努力过着正常人的生活，并在成年后成为了一名音乐剧演员活跃在舞台上。然而舞台上光芒四射的他在舞台下依旧深深地体会着孤独，之后的他陷入一场突如其来又强烈的爱情，充满期待又无法摆脱自己的心理障碍，最终爱人离去，让他再次痛苦不堪……
