在这部赤裸玫瑰传记/同性片中,"Il Rosa Nudo" (Naked Rose) is an experimental film inspired by the life of Pierre Seel and his autobiography cowritten with Jean Le Bitoux, who was one of the most important activists for GLBT rights in France and in Europe. Talking about Pierre Seel's dramatic history, means to remark the abominations made by Nazis towards homosexuals. Naked Rose focuses on an episode which will mark forever the existence of Pierre Seel, who was imprisoned at the very young age of seventeen: deported to Schimerck, he assisted to the atrocious death of his partner.
Il Rosa Nudo è un lavoro di cinematografia sperimentale ispirato alla Vita di Pierre Seel ed alla autobiografia scritta in collaborazione con Jean Le Bitoux, che a sua volta è stato uno dei più importanti attivisti per i diritti GLBT in Francia e in Europa. Questo toccante testo letterario non è stato mai tradotto in italiano. Parlare della vicenda traumatica di Seel, significa rimarcare gli orrori compiuti dai nazisti anche nei confronti di chi era schedato come omosessuale. Il Rosa Nudo si concentra soprattutto su un episodio doloroso e terribile che segnerà per tutta la vita l'emotività di Seel che, all'epoca dell'internamento, aveva solo 17 anni. Deportato nel campo di Schimerck, assisterà all'atroce morte del suo compagno.
Among the millions of victims of the Nazi madness during the Second World War, Pierre Seel was charged with homosexuality and imprisoned in the Schirmeck concentration camp. He survived this terrifying experience of torture and humiliation, and after the war he married, had three children, and tried to live a normal life. In 1982, however, he came to terms with his past and his true nature and decided to publicly reveal what he and thousands of other homosexuals branded with the Pink Triangle had undergone during the Nazi regime. Il Rosa Nudo (Naked Rose), inspired by the true story of Pierre Seel, depicts in a theatrical and evocative way the Homocaust, focusing on the scientific theories of SS Physician Carl Peter Værnet for the treatment of homosexuality, which paved the way for the Nazi persecution of gay men.
