At the center of Rumeurs is the explosive relationship between Esther and Benoît, two incompatible people who do everything in their power to resist their mutual attraction. But chance throws them together as co-editors of a women’s magazine, and Esther’s sharp-tongued best friend Hélène can’t resist making her opinions known. It’s a recipe for strong emotions… and big laughs.
Esther Bérubé est pigiste pour un magazine tiré à 150 exemplaires. Ce n'est pas ce dont elle rêvait, mais tout change lorsque sa meilleure amie Hélène lui apprend qu'on cherche une nouvelle rédactrice en chef chez Rumeurs. Le problème, c'est qu'Esther va devoir sacrément impressionner la directrice du magazine, Michèle Lauzon, pour décrocher le poste. Esther se vante alors de pouvoir amener au sein du magazine Benoît Dumais, un journaliste sportif de renom qu'elle n'a jamais rencontré. C'est le début d'une collaboration électrique, qui va semer la pagaille dans les bureaux de Rumeurs ainsi que dans leur entourage.
