The film focuses on three strangers. Xiao Zhou, a homeless guy who barely survive in Chengdu by doing some odd jobs. One day he meets a young woman Ah Yu who lost on her way to looks for her ex-lover. they forge an instant connection, then Xiao zhou tails after Ah Yu and steals Ah Yu's bag. At night, Xiao zhou is robbed and badly beaten by some hooligans and leave him on the street. Xiao Hua, an unemployed clerk, finds him, carries him home, cares for him. Within the city gloom of Chengdu, three youths face alienation, loneliness, depression, they enter each other's life by coincidence.
