This film is a highly imaginative re-creation of a medieval mystery play about a woman who sells her soul to the Devil. It was made as an amateur collective effort, and the arrangement was that people would be reimbursed on the basis of the amount of work they put into it. After several years of filming in this manner, a professional editor and filmmaker were asked to organize the material and create some sort of ending.
