在这部龙之心剧情片中,根据加拿大著名轮椅运动员Rick Hansen的真实故事改变。1985年3月21日，Rick Hansen离开温哥华，开始了“Man In Motion World Tour”的轮椅环游世界壮举，在两年零度两个月的时间里，他驾驶轮椅穿越全球四大洲的34个国家，共行驶了四万公里，为脊髓损伤(Spinal Cord Injury, SCI)研究筹款两千六百万元，于1987年3月22日回到温哥华。他曾驾着轮椅登上中国的长城。他也成为令所有加拿大人敬佩和感动的残疾勇士。
现在，Rick Hansen是“ Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion基金会”总裁，继续致力于为与他一样遭受脊髓损伤病痛折磨的患者改善生活质量。Rick Hansen与他的轮椅运动教练Amanda结婚，两人婚后育有三个女儿。
