The novice writer, Nayuki and her younger brother Takumi face unusually harsh treatment by their father and are inextricably linked by traumatic memories. Nayuki wants to flee her memories and starts writing them down. She gets a relationship with the publisher of her stories, while Takumi is coveted by his classmate Yuri. An act of brutality keeps them extremely close together until an older couple occupy the house where their secret was buried.
